Tonight's Home Meet Against Big Ridge (and a City Meet Reminder)
City Meet Reminder: The deadline to sign up for City Meet is tomorrow morning at 10am. This will give coaches time to get seed times for all of our swimmers before submitting entries! Don't miss out on the biggest meet of our season! Please visit our City Meet Registration page for more info!
The Weather: It's looking like the worst of the weather will clear out in time for tonight's meet. However, meets still happen even if it's messy out. The pool will be cleared in the case of torrential downpours (where the lifeguard can't see the bottom of the deep end) or for thunder, but, otherwise, the show must go on!!!
Warm-Ups: Warm-ups will begin at 4:45 pm. Please have your swimmer on the Cumberland pool deck and ready to swim by that time.
Volunteering: Please check in with Mike Abraham and Nicole Redmon when you arrive at the meet to confirm your volunteer assignment for this evening. We still have open positions for this evening. Parent volunteers are vital for our team. Thank you for stepping up!
Supplies: Don't forget a swim suit (tie-back suits and suits advertising other teams are not allowed), a swim cap (plain, Cumberland, or no cap), goggles, a towel, and a water bottle. Our concession stand will be open for business!
Heat Sheet: The heat sheet and a list of events by swimmer are attached to this email and are available on the swim meet schedule on our website. The heat sheet contains all of the information about which events your swimmer will be participating in tonight and which lanes they will be swimming in. Some of you may find that your swimmers are swimming up (participating in events for an age group older than their own). Summer swimming is a team sport, and we have carefully placed all swimmers in events to maximize points for our team and to give everyone as many chances to swim as possible.
Team Spirit: Most of all, we want our swimmers to have fun, swim hard, and enjoy supporting each other. If possible, please stay through the end of the meet to cheer on all of our swimmers (and the Big Ridge swimmers too!!!). We can't wait to see you tonight. Go Cumberland!!!
