Hello Currents! At long last, Barbara, Teresa, and Andrea have put together position descriptions for the team board, and we are ready to initiate the board nomination process for the 2025 season. If you are interested in serving, please review the position descriptions and self-nominate via this form. The form includes a statement of interest (maximum of 1250 characters / 250 words) that will be shared with the team during the voting process.

In putting together the position descriptions, we endeavored to be as thorough as possible and divide the many tasks required so that every job has an owner. We fully expect that these positions will be revised by the incoming board and that additional positions/committees will be formed to handle much of the work. In addition to our existing volunteer coordinator role, we anticipate the need for roles such as fundraising, website, and concession stand coordinators. The new board will also be calling a meeting soon where current and potential coaches can discuss plans going forward.

We have provided descriptions for five positions. However, two of these roles are already filled. Teresa Allen will continue in her role as Treasurer during the 2025 season. Nick Chrzan has already been elected as 2025 Treasurer for the Chattanooga Area Swim League, so he will automatically serve as our team’s Pool Representative to that board. The open positions during this election are: President, Vice President, and Secretary.

Barbara and Andrea will be leaving our official positions with the team. That said, we fully intend to be extremely active throughout the season – providing any needed guidance and assistance to the new leadership. We are deeply committed to this amazing team and its success going forward. Please don’t feel overwhelmed by the many tasks required. We’ve already been there, we know what we’re doing, and we’ve absolutely got your back through the 2025 season.

The timeline for voting will be:

• Self-Nominations for President, Vice President, and Secretary are due by Saturday, 11/23.
• Voting will be open from Sunday, 11/24 through Friday, 12/6 (or earlier if positions are uncontested).
• On Saturday, 12/7, the new board will be announced and officially takes over. There will be a meeting scheduled soon after the election concludes for the old board to get website/email/other access to the new board so they can get started.
