Please join us in congratulating our own Coach Zach Schurr - 2025 Jennifer Fugate Award Nominee!  This is truly a prestigious honor - this year, there are 8 total stellar candidates - I encourage you to check out this link Fugate - Chattanooga Area Swim League and read the bios (including Zach's below) - all so impressive!  There you can also read the legacy of Jennifer Fugate and the story behind the award - it will pull at every heart string you have. 

Zach's unrelenting passion and love for the sport and the Currents shines bright in the way he consistently coaches, prepares, carries himself, and leads - getting to know each and every swimmer and fine tuning technique with his genuine and gentle style - pulling out the best in the swimmers of all ages/levels.  This is a rare quality and Zach has it.   The three pillars of the Fugate Award are winning spirit, leadership, and dedication to swimming for his or her team. I think we can all agree that Zach is the perfect blend of these qualities.  All of this, along with his incredible achievements academically and service within the community make Zach the ideal and deserving candidate.  

Please join us at City Meet - 5:15 pm Saturday (before evening Finals)  by the pool to cheer Zach on!
