Everything You Need to Know About the End of the Year Banquet

    Good evening!

It’s hard to believe that this morning was our last regular season practice and that tomorrow is City Meet! My, how these 6 weeks do fly by! For those of you attending City Meet, we will see you there bright and early tomorrow! The warm-ups for 10 and under will start promptly at 7:50 am on the Ft. Oglethorpe pool deck. I recommend getting there early to find parking since we are in the second shift of warm-ups tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who RSVPed! We have 200 people attending our End of the Year banquet and want to make sure we have enough seating to accommodate such a large crowd. For that reason, we are going to have two different dining times. If your last name starts with the letter A-M, your time to dine is 4:30-5:15 pm and if your last name starts with the letter N-Z is 5:15 - 6 pm. We want to give everyone ample time to enjoy dinner before we move onto our awards ceremony at 6 pm in the sanctuary. We ask that you help us by honoring these dining times as best as possible so that we can have a smooth and fun night together.

After we have our awards ceremony in the sanctuary, we will move the party to the pool deck for all-family swimming. Be sure to pack everyone’s swimsuits + towels. This is a very special night and our coaches, board, + volunteers work hard to make it a special celebration of your swimmer’s hard work all season.

If you haven’t done so already, please sign up to bring a dessert here. And send your team pictures to our gmail account ([email protected]) by Saturday afternoon so that they can be added to our team slideshow.

Special thanks to Teresa Allen (and twins!), Hannah Johnson, Jakobee Daniels, and Barbara Schuster for putting in extra time and effort this week to assemble all of the swim ribbons that come with 8 dual meets. As always, we couldn’t do this without a tribe of dedicated volunteers, and we are so grateful for your help!

We look forward to celebrating with you soon! Go Currents!!!

PS: Please complete our End of the Year survey here. This year we had many new board members, coaches, + swimmers. We learned a lot over the 2025 swim season, and we want to only improve the Cumberland Currents swim team going into 2026. We appreciate your feedback!
