City Meet, Volunteers, & End of Season Awards Banquet
July 6th
We can't believe that the end of our season is almost here! Several very important bits of information as we wrap things up:
City Swim Meet at Baylor School Natatorium:
- Warm-up times:
- Friday am (10 & Under): 7:45-8:15am, Suntrust Pool, Lanes 3 & 4
- Friday pm (11 & Older): approx. 11:30-Noon, Suntrust Pool, Lane 5
- Saturday am (10 & Under): 7:15-7:45am, Chattem Pool, Lanes 3 & 4
- Saturday pm (11 & Older); approx. Noon-12:30pm, Chattem Pool, Lane 6
- We will have a designated area for Cumberland in the gym where you can set up your chairs & blankets and bring your coolers. That area will also have a concession stand and other swimming vendors. See the attached map for details.
- Only officials, timers, coaches, and swimmers are allowed on the pool deck.
- If you are not volunteering, you can watch your swimmers' events from the stands above the pool -- but you cannot bring your coolers, chairs, and blankets with you.
- Speaking of volunteering, we still NEED volunteers to sign up on our website. According to the meet rules, we are required to provide one timer throughout the city meet or all of our swimmers will be disqualified. This year, we are asking volunteers to sign up by event (i.e. Friday morning breaststroke, Saturday afternoon butterfly, etc.) so that we can better share the responsibility across the team. Remember that timing gives you a front row seat to all the action - so feel free to sign up for multiple slots if you want. The full event list is attached so that you can see exactly what you are signing up for, and the approximate start and end times for each event.
- Finals on Friday and Saturday (after the conclusion of the PM session) are for the top 16 swimmers in each event.
- Good luck to all of our 41 participating Cumberland swimmers!
End of the Season Banquet
- The end of the season awards banquet will be on Monday evening, July 11th, from 6pm-8:30pm.
- We will start with a taco bar dinner in the church building, then awards in the sanctuary, and finally fun in the pool for the swimmers (weather permitting).
- We are asking parents to bring a dessert to share.
Go Cumberland!!!!!
